Club Med - Day 5

Victoria's cough is better than it was on Friday!  However, Friday was worse than Thursday.  I'm not sure we're back up quite that good.  Maybe tomorrow.

Victoria had a wonderful time with Daddy last night.  But after a little questioning seems they were having too much fun.  Daddy forgot to give her a bath & to brush her teeth.  So I had to be the bad guy and give her a bath tonight.  Wrapping her arm in plastic wrap and having to remind her to keep her arm up on the grab bar in attempt to keep it dry & clean isn't any fun.  Especially when she's moving away from me because she doesn't want her hair washed despite that there's food & paint in it.  Her hair isn't the only place she got paint.  She got it all over her bed & her picc line.  She dunked her picc line in the paint.  But on the bright side she was painting me a present.

Victoria stayed in her room most of the day.  She didn't want to put on pants. Therefore she couldn't leave the room - Mommy & Daddy say she must wear pants, a top, socks, & a mask to leave the room.  Shoes are optional if we're not venturing into the garden.

The doctor stopped by today.  He said that nothing showed up on the preliminary culture.  Full results would take 5 days.  So that would be tomorrow afternoon.  I wonder if we'll have to wait until Tuesday to hear anything definitive. He also thinks she may have bad reflux and is aspirating into her lungs.  So they'd put a tube down her throat to monitor for 24 hours.  I can just imagine how much fun that will be.  So maybe if it's reflux and not true lung exacerbation, we can leave sooner rather than later?  I wonder if that's just wishful thinking.  Or it could still be slow growing cultures - which tend to be bad things.  We can only wait and see.

Victoria says that any day that isn't someone else's birthday is Pink Bear's birthday so she can have cake! *giggle*

She also said she wanted to go have another x-ray so she could get another star balloon. She still talks about the red balloon she got in April can't wait to take the purple balloon to see it.  The red balloon is all flat but that doesn't matter to Victoria.  Anyone got any suggestions on what to do with a collection of flat mylar balloons? I think we'll have a hard time convincing Victoria to throw them away.

She was too excited from getting a potty prize (new dress up slippers) to lie still.  So I turned up the heat in her room a little, made her put her feet under the covers, and at her request, read my book to her until she fell asleep.  Asleep a little after 11pm when the nurse came in to start her bedtime IVs.  She's already had the Fortaz. Zyvox is running now. Soon it will be time for me to sleep.
